Tournament Overview
Register

We are excited to host our 1st Annual Elementary Scholastic Chess Tournament open for grades K-5. 

 

Online registration will close at 10 AM on Friday, May 29. No entries on site.

Sections + Schedule 

K-4  Novice Unrated, 4 rounds
K-5  Juniors U500, G25/d5
K-5  Booster U800, G25/d5
K-5  Reserve U1200 G25/d5
K-5  Championship 1200+, G25/d5

Rounds start at 10 AM, 11:20 AM, 1 PM, 2:20 PM.  

Award ceremonies ~3:45 PM.


Pairings


Pairings are based on published USCF ratings. TD reserves the right to assign players’ sections.

Byes + Notes

​

Half point bye is allowed for any round but must be requested before Round 2.

​

Boards, notation, and pencils will be supplied. Please bring your own clock.



For Novice section, clocks and notation will not be required.

Awards

 

$60 for First Place 1200 Plus and U1200. Trophies to top 12 winners and medals for all other "paw"ticipants. Team trophy to top performing school in each rated section. For team placement, top 3 scores count.



 

Prizes + Giveaways



 

All players will be entered into raffle drawings during the tournament. Drawings will happen between rounds 2 and 3. Must be present to win. 

More Information



PS 150 will have food and merchandise available for purchase. Outside food is fine but must be NUT FREE.



There will be a common area with wifi for parents and guardians accessible to wait after chaperoning their child between rounds.  

Please note that this is not a drop-off event. 



Team rooms can be arranged upon request.
